Reno Henriques, co-founder of Fresh Catch restaurant, takes Food Network star Guy Fieri on a tour of the Valley Island on a new episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” titled “Soakin’ up Maui,” at 7 p.m. Friday.
Fieri visits the Like Poke? food truck and Chris Schobel’s Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse, which serves St. Louis-style ribs.
Fieri and Henriques became instant friends the first time Fresh Catch was featured on “Diners,” said Henriques’ mother and business partner, Linda. “Probably since they both have boisterous and fun-loving personalities, while (also) determined to work hard and be successful.”
She says her son’s multiple appearances on Fieri’s shows, which include “Guy’s Big Bite,” and “Guy’s Grocery Games,” have been a “tremendous” promotion for Fresh Catch. “Guy loves the islands and, like Reno, is willing to taste all foods. They’ve enjoyed fishing, diving and hanging out with their families together,” Henriques said.
On July 15 Fieri checks out another Maui restaurant for ramen and Vietnamese-style crepes.
