Prison guard indicted on murder charge in death of mother
An Oahu grand jury today indicted state prison guard Anthony F. Pereira II on a charge of second-degree murder in the shooting death of his 66-year-old mother in his Maili home Friday.
The grand jury returned an indictment today also charging the 44-year-old Pereira with kidnapping, terroristic threatening, using a firearm to commit the crimes and drug possession.
Pereira remains in custody at Halawa Correctional Facility. Circuit Judge Richard Perkins confirmed his bail Wednesday at $1 million.

I’m surprised that theses type of employees don’t get randomly drug tested. Or is it they don’t because there wouldn’t be anyone available to do these type of jobs if they did?
