Woodrow to take reins of Hawaii Air National Guard wing
Gov. David Ige will pin the stars on the Hawaii Air National Guard’s new commander of the 154th Wing, Commander Brig. Gen. Gregory S. Woodrow, at a Washington Place ceremony Tuesday.
Woodrow, a C-17 Globemaster jet transport pilot, was vice wing commander of the 154th Wing, which is the largest wing in the Air National Guard.
Woodrow had served in the active duty Air Force for 15 years before joining the Hawaii Air National Guard in 2001.
His previous assignments include commander of the Hawaii Air Guard’s 154th Operations Support Flight; chief of safety of the 154th Wing; commander of the 204th Airlift Squadron; and commander of the 154th Maintenance Group.
Woodrow is a command pilot with more than 7,100 flight hours including 172 combat hours flying C-17s during Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
