Peggy and Hin Oey of Hawaii Kai spotted the Ala Moana Motel in Paihia, a tourist town in the Bay of Islands in northern New Zealand, in February. The roadside inn doesn’t look much like Hawaii’s Ala Moana Hotel, but surrounding scenery is similar to the islands, Hin Oey said. Peggy Oey is pictured; Hin Oey took the shot.
