Friends located a hunter today, who had failed to check in with his family this morning, after fire rescue personnel launched a search for the man by ground and air in Waiahole Valley.

The hunter entered the valley Wednesday and decided to spend the night to continue hunting. However, he failed to inform his family, who reported him missing this morning.

Fire rescue personnel began a search for the man, aided by the department’s helicopter, just after 9 a.m.

Friends located the hunter at 11 a.m. He was uninjured.
