Firefighters extinguish business fire in Waipahu
Honolulu firefighters extinguished a fire Monday at a business in Waipahu.
The two-alarm fire began about 4:25 p.m. at 94-216 Farrington Highway in a three-story building housing commercial businesses, including a medical office.
Honolulu Fire Department Capt. David Jenkins said firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the ground floor unit and isolated the flames to a bathroom. The fire was brought under control in less than 10 minutes.
The building was evacuated, and one woman began experiencing health problems that required assistance from firefighters. She was transferred to paramedics for treatment.
No damage estimates were available.
The fire was extinguished at 4:51 p.m. The cause was under investigation.
