Auto theft suspect flees after chase, but is caught in Kunia
A 32-year-old homeless man is in custody facing car theft and probation violations after he was caught driving a stolen car in Kunia Sunday, police said.
Officers tried to stop the suspect for a traffic violation at the Kunia Walmart just after 10 a.m. However, the suspect fled and got away after a brief pursuit, police said.
The suspect was seen several hours later on Kunia Road and police discovered that the car he was driving had been stolen.
Officers arrested him on suspicion of car theft, driving without a license and an outstanding warrant for a probation violation.
