Gambled and lost.
I’ll often hike in Tantalus on Sundays. It’s a common Sunday occurrence to encounter skateboarders following a ‘lead’ car down that steep and dangerous road. It’s frightening to go around a corner and find a skateboarder coming straight at you. A few weeks back I was just coming off the Kalawahine trail when one accidentally skated *under* his lead car. (Talk about terrifying!) The kid miraculously was unhurt, except for some scrapes. He came up off the ground cussing at the driver, who leapt out of his car and in turn started cussing at the kid who hadn’t been run over. All I could do was shake my head.
very dangerous, noisy, irritating sport
They pull the same stupid stunt up in Alewa Hts. Just hope it’s not my car they run into.
I agree. Suicide’s one thing, but I have no interest in someone trying to make me assist in their departure from this earth.
Wah the skateboarder in a crosswalk or was he riding in the street as so many of them are doing today?
almost all use the streets. It is very dangerous.
The land based equivalent of a shark attack.
