Kona brush fire closes community college
Hawaii island police closed Palama Nui access road this afternoon because of a brush fire in Kona, closing the Hawaii Community College-Palamanui campus
Police said the access road was closed from Ane Keohokalole Highway to Queen Kaahumanu Highway and urged drivers to avoid the area and take other routes.
The Fire Department estimated the road would remain closed until about 11 p.m.
