Obama family goes hiking in Makiki despite windy weather
President Barack Obama hiked the Makiki Loop Trail along with family and friends at Hawaii Nature Center late Sunday morning. The motorcade departed the Obamas’ vacation rental in Kailua at 10:40 a.m. on a gusty, overcast morning with scattered showers on Oahu.
Obama and the rest of the First Family left the Makiki Loop Trail about 90 minutes after arriving and returned to the Obama’s rental home in Kailua at 1:25 p.m.
The president arrived in Hawaii early Saturday for the start of his annual two-week holiday getaway from Washington. He is joined by first lady Michelle Obama and daughters Malia and Sasha.

For all of you who’ve been yearning to tell Obama to go take a hike — haha, he beat you to it. Guess you could say he trumped your sorry ace.
The easy side of Tantalus; barely the foothills. A good tourist hike.
They should remain on base or in their beach house. Every time they go anywhere they inconvenience everyone else with closed roads/freeways and traffic jams galore. If he cared at all about other people he would take his family somewhere where they would not have the negative effect of inconveniencing ordinary americans. In a place like Hawaii, the affect of his presence is even worse because we have limited roads to use and too many people living on a small island.I doubt however that causing inconvenience to the locals even plays a factor in the lives of the political elite. They don’t give it a second thought, even at Christmas time. Obama is no different.
Could you please stop saying what you think? You are endlessly negative about everything. Everything.
How pathetic.
Did you eat the Grinch and Debbie Downer for breakfast.?
I don’t even restrict my two puppies. They are free range family members, too.
Disagree. We are all honored to host our President. It is great for tourism and Hawaii’s international visibility. We are proud of our native son. He is a good, honorable decent man as well.
Did the kids at the nearby Punahou School originally give Tantalus it’s name?
Kids now can’t do anything unless it is with an smartphone apps?
