Daredevil burglar seen jumping from hotel balconies
A man seen jumping from balcony to balcony at a Kona hotel was charged with burglary after his arrest early Tuesday morning on Ali’i Drive.
The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Elijah Prevetz-Lafayette, of Honaunau, reportedly entered an occupied room through a balcony screen door and took three bags.
A 20-year-old woman, visiting from Switzerland and staying in the room, struggled with the intruder on the lanai and held on to her bags, police said.
Hotel employees watched the man jump to another balcony and enter an unoccupied room, police said. The suspect left the room and fled to the parking lot, where employees detained him until officers arrived at the location at the 75-5700 block of Ali’i Drive at about 5:30 a.m.
Police arrested and held Prevetz-Lafayette on a contempt of court warrant, while detectives continued their investigation.
Authorities charged him with burglary, theft, criminal property damage and criminal trespass.

He flies thru the air, with the greatest of ease — SPLAT!
“The Bourne” spy-thriller character must have influenced this nut. Not bright as he got caught and could not even wrench the handbag away from the lady from Switzerland.
