Molokai men charged with attempted murder in shooting
Two Molokai men were charged Thursday night for the attempted murder of two men now hospitalized at Queen’s Medical Center with gunshot wounds.
Chad Naehu, 32, of Kaunakakai; and Travis Torres, 26, of Hoolehua, were charged with first-degree attempted murder. Their bail was set at $1 million each.
Both are being held at Maui’s Wailuku Police station facing arraignment.
Police said the shooting occurred near a house on Puu Kapele Avenue in Hoolehua Wednesday afternoon. Officers found two people had been shot near the home, police said.
A 52-year-old Molokai man is critical condition at Queen’s. The second victim — a 37-year-old man — is also hospitalized at Queen’s and is in guarded condition.

Torres, 26, was convicted four times for car theft, beginning in 2010.
Naehu, 32, has three felony convictions for theft and breaking into vehicles, beginning in 2008.
