Kentucky man found facedown in water at Maui’s Molokini Crater
A 58-year-old Kentucky man died Sunday after being found facedown in the water during a snorkeling tour at Molokini Crater.
Maui police identified the victim as Jonathan Owens of Louisville.
According to police, Owens had gone to the crater with a tour group aboard the vessel Odyssey, and was found unresponsive just before 9 a.m. He was brought to MaalaeaHarbor, where the Coast Guard and paramedics conducted CPR, but he did not recover.
An autopsy will be performed.
