Man dies on United flight to Hilo
A man in his 40s died Wednesday on a United Airlines flight headed to Hilo, the state Department of Transportation said.
The man was on UAL 1004, which took off from Los Angeles, Calif. and landed on the Big Island at about 7:40 p.m.
United Airlines spokeswoman Jennifer Dohm said she can only confirm that there was a medical emergency on the flight and would not provide any additional details.
Police said no positive identification, age or place of residence has yet been confirmed. The man is listed as a John Doe.
The body was taken to Hilo Medical Center where an autopsy will be done to determine cause of death.
