Hawaii island’s Highway 19 closed near Honomu because of downed tree
Hawaii County police closed Highway 19 in the area of the 13-mile mark in Honomu Sunday because of a downed tree and utility lines.
State highway and utility crews were on scene to clear the roadway at aobut 9:30 a.m. and traffic was detoured around the closed area.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and to use alternate routes, if possible.
