Firefighters save family dogs, extinguish blaze in Kapolei
Honolulu firefighters extinguished a fire on Kamaaha Loop in Kapolei and saved two family dogs Sunday morning.
The fire broke out at about 8:52 a.m. at a home at 91-1153 Kamaaha Loop.
Arriving firefighters saw smoke and flames coming from the two-story, multi-family structure and brought the flames under control by 9:05 a.m. The fire was extinguished at 9:44 a.m.
No one was home, except for the family dogs, when the fire broke out.
Damage was estimated at $80,000 to the structure and contents.
The cause was under investigation.
