Nordstrom is offering early access to its annual anniversary sale to Nordstrom cardholders through July 16. There’s no need to wait for end-of-season sales when cardholders will be able to shop sale prices on fall’s new arrivals. Some examples: Rag & Bone boyfriend jeans originally $265, now $175.90; Topshop peacoat originally $160, now $104.90; Stuart Weitzman Mixitup boots originally $625, now $399.90.
The sale opens to all July 17, and full retail prices go back into effect Aug. 2.
Hallmark to hold ornament launch
For those who plan ahead, July is not a time for summer play, but for starting their Christmas shopping.
Amy’s Hallmark keeps these shoppers in mind, launching its annual Christmas in July Keepsake Ornament Premiere at 8 a.m. Saturday at its Ala Moana Center (941-5683) and Pearlridge (486-6069) stores, and 9 a.m. at Windward Mall (247-1101).
More than 200 of the 2015 Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments will be released at the event, with designs to help mark important milestones, family traditions and a variety of special interests and passions, such as cooking, fishing, golfing, grilling, teaching and more.
Lush soap to raise money to aid sharks
Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics has partnered with Discovery Channel’s "Shark Week" to bring its limited-edition Shark Fin Soap ($5.95) to its stores and online at lushusa.com through July 19.
To help shed light on the important role sharks play in maintaining a healthy ocean, Lush will donate all sales of the soap to United Conservationists to support the group’s FinFree campaign, a global movement addressing the mass slaughter of sharks to supply consumer demand for shark fins.
The Shark Fin Soap is made from vegan, cruelty-free ingredients including seaweed, sea salt, lime and lavender, topped with a paper fin.
Lush is also inviting people to sign petitions asking for a ban on the trade and possession of shark fin products at fin-free.com/ petitions.
Shark Week programming continues through Sunday on Discovery.
National search calls for models
European Wax Center and Wilhelmina Models are launching a nationwide "Summer Goddess 2015" search. The casting call will take place 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Wilhelmina Models, 45-1123 Kamehameha Highway. Contestants must be 18 to 30 years old (by July 20) and at least 5 feet 8 inches tall. Participants will receive a complimentary brow wax at European Wax Center in Pearl City.
Photos of the finalists will be posted online, and the public will be able to vote on their "fan favorite" beauty at popsugar.com/ summergoddesssearch. The contestant with the most votes, and four other finalists selected by Wilhelmina and EWC judges, will win a trip to Miami for the finals. The winner, announced Aug. 19, will receive a contract with Wilhelmina Models and a year of complimentary waxing services at participating European Wax Center locations nationwide.
