The search continued for a 32-year-old Leilehua High School graduate who has been missing since Tuesday when left for a hike to a Koolau mountain summit.

The mother of Justin Clark believes her son took the 3.5 mile Schofield-Waikane trail Tuesday morning.

The fire department’s helicopter Friday morning inserted search teams at the summit of the mountain and the crews will work their way down to the trailhead, checking the various stream beds. Eighteen fire rescue personnel are involved in the search efforts.

Access to the trail is restricted because it is through the Army’s Schofield  Barracks East Range and written permission is required by the Army.

On Thursday fire rescue personnel searched the Wahiawa Heights Loop Trail. Crews searched four locations and focused their efforts on an area where a concentration of Clark’s cellphone pings came from Tuesday.

Police issued a missing person’s bulletin for Clark, who is 6 feet 2 inches and 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He may be wearing a long-sleeved shirt, long pants and brown hiking shoes.
