Police charge son with murder in death of father in Puna
An 18-year-old man is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of his 47-year-old father in the Fern Acres subdivision of Puna Saturday morning.
Forrest Keesler, of Mountain View, was being held at the Hilo Police cellblock on $250,000 bail after charges were filed Sunday.
Keesler’s initial court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday.
Police identified the victim as 47-year-old Jeffrey Kelly of Mountain View.
Officers responding to a domestic violence incident at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, found paramedics treating Kelly who was unconscious.
Paramedics took him to the Hilo Medical Center, where he died.

Officers arrested Keesler on suspicion of second-degree murder Saturday morning.
