Police arrest sex assault suspect on school campus
Police arrested a 43-year-old Ewa Beach man Wednesday morning on the Pearl Harbor Kai Elementary School campus on multiple counts of sex assault.
However, the Department of Education said the alleged incident did not involve a student nor did it occur on campus.
Donalyn Dela Cruz, a DOE spokeswoman, said the suspect is a substitute worker who was working in the school’s cafeteria when he was arrested.
Police asked permission from school officials to pick up the suspect at the school, she added.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of five counts of third-degree sexual assault and five counts of first-degree sexual assault.
Police did not release any details on the case.
