Canadian hiker injured after slipping at Iao Valley State Park
Maui firefighters rescued a female hiker who was injured her ankle after slipping at Iao Valley State Park on Wednesday afternoon.
The 40-year-old female tourist from British Columbia, Canada, was found about a mile above the visitor lookout.
Conditions on the trail were hazardous so a rescue crew aboard the Air 1 helicopter airlifted her to the parking lot where she was treated and transported by paramedics to a hospital with minor injuries.
