Man convicted in murder, rape of Dana Ireland dies in N.M.
One of three men convicted in the 1991, rape, kidnapping and murder of Dana Ireland on Hawaii island, died Monday afternoon in a New Mexico prison, according to the New Mexico Corrections Department.
Frank Pauline Jr. was found in the recreation yard at Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility, and was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but died at the prison.
New Mexico State Police will handle the investigation.
No suspects have been named, the corrections department said in a news release.
Pauline was sentenced to a minimum of 180 years.
