Robotics students create helping hand

The hand, intended for a Maka­kilo girl, was designed by e-NABLE and took some 20 hours to print and another two hours to assemble.

West Hawaii Explorations Academy student Tommy Furneisen, 16, kept on eye on the 3-D printer Friday as it produced souvenirs for other competitors at the FIRST?robotics tournament. This same printer was used to create the group’s project, a prosthetic hand intended for a 3-year-old girl.
