Police investigating shooting death in Salt Lake as homicide

Police are investigating the Friday morning shooting death of a 72-year-old man in a Salt Lake residential area as a homicide case.
Shortly before 6 a.m., paramedics responded to the scene of the shooting on Ala Leleu Street, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.
Paramedics treated the man for an apparent gunshot wound and transported him in critical condition to a hospital, EMS said. The man later died, and police are now pursuing a homicide investigation, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
