Sun, warmer temperatures expected on President’s Day

Low clouds over the islands Monday morning are expected to be replaced by mostly sunny skies later in the day.
Cool overnight and morning temperatures are expected to warm up into the 80s in Honolulu and south shores of Oahu on President’s Day.
The gusty winds over the weekend departed after a front moved past the islands.
Light easterly winds are expected Monday under sunny skies. Most temperatures will drop into the 60s Monday night, a little warmer than Sunday’s low temperatures, which dropped into the 50s in some areas.
A high surf warning over the weekend has been replaced by a high surf advisory for north shores of Oahu, Kauai County, Maui, Molokai and the Big Island.
Surf of 12 to 16 feet is expected through about 6 p.m. Monday.
The weather is likely to change later in the week as another cold front approaches Hawaii.
Southwesterly winds ahead of the cold front may bring humid conditions and vog on Thursday. Scattered showers are likely Thursday night into Friday.
