Man who apparently drowned off Kahuku identified
The medical examiner identified the 23-year-old Hauula man who apparently drowned Friday while snorkeling in Kahuku as Nuhi Kahele.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine cause of death.
Ocean Safety, Honolulu Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to the 1:45 p.m. incident which occurred in the waters off the 7th hole of the Kahuku Golf Course.
The snorkeler was taken in critical condition to the hospital, where he died.
