Hawaii County police ask public’s help in property damage case

Hawaii County police are asking the public for help in identifying an irate customer who allegedly damaged equipment at a Puna store. 

The Jan. 20 incident was caught on a surveillance camera. Police said the man allegedly damaged a piece of equipment, knocking it to the floor.

He is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, in his late 30s with brown eyes and short, dark-browned hair.

He wore a black cap, a multicolored shirt, white shorts and black rubber slippers.

Police said he drove away in a silver 2002 Dodge Caliber 4-door sedan.

Anyone with information on his identity or whereabouts is asked to call police at 935-3311 or officer
