Fire destroys house on Painted Church Road
Big Island fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed a two-story home on Painted Church Road in Captain Cook Tuesday night.
The fire broke out just before 7 p.m.
Firefighters reported the wooden house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at 7:14 p.m.
No one was home at the time and no injuries were reported.
Damage to the home, contents and two vehicles was estimated at $437,500.
