National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration divers returned to Honolulu Tuesday from a 33-day marine debris cleanup in Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument. The team removed a record 57 tons of derelict fishing gear, plastics and other items that are hazards to monk seals, turtles, seabirds and fragile coral reefs. Team members haul tangled fishing nets onto a small boat.
