Hawaii County police charged a Hawi couple Saturday with theft and burglary in connection with a home burglary in Kapaau.

The couple is accused of stealing several items, including electronics, purses and wallets during an Oct. 5 burglary of a home on Lehuula Circle. 

Police arrested Roberta Ramos, 23, Friday afternoon on a $20,000 bench warrant for violating parole in an unrelated theft and burglary case.

Police uncovered information implicating Ramos and boyfriend, Kelvin Kaneshiro. Police arrested Kaneshiro Friday evening.

Detectives were both charged Ramos and Kaneshiro with first-degree burglary and second-degree theft.

Ramos was also charged with contempt of court. Her bail was set at $27,000 and Kaneshiro’s bail was set at $7,000.
