Las Vegas under flash flood watch
LAS VEGAS >> Authorities have issued a flash flood watch in Las Vegas and the surrounding desert areas.
The advisory takes effect at 9 a.m. Monday and runs to 9 p.m. The National Weather Service says there’s a 50 percent chance of rain on Monday.
The watch includes Las Vegas, as well as Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Red Rock Canyon and other places in Southern California and Arizona.
The area is in the middle of monsoon season, which brings summer rains and hot temperatures.
