The first holdup occurred at 9:30 p.m. at the ABC Superette on Ala Moana Boulevard in Waikiki. The suspect demanded cash and fled.

Two hours later at 11:49 p.m., a man using a gun robbed the Longs Drugs store at Manoa Markeplace. The robber fled on foot.
