A 54-year-old skateboarder died today after a traffic accident in Kaimuki.
The Honolulu man was riding a skateboard on Alohea Avenue about 12:15 p.m., when he made a right turn onto 10th Avenue in Kaimuki and struck a car stopped at a stop sign, Honolulu police said.
The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition and died shortly after.
The crash was the 28th traffic fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 33 for the same period last year.
