Victim in Hilo truck crash is identified
Police have identified a 30-year-old Hilo man who died Sunday in a single-vehicle crash in Hilo as Palani B. Cobb-Adams.
Police said alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
Cobb-Adams was driving a 1994 Toyota pickup truck west on Puainako Street when he crossed the center line at 4:21 a.m. Sunday, police said. His truck then struck a street sign and an embankment, police said.
Fire rescue personnel took him to the Hilo Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 5:21 a.m. An autopsy will be performed.
