Minneapolis-based Target Corp. said in a news release Wednesday that it will open its long-delayed Kailua store in March 2015.

The new location will employ roughly 300 workers and will be the third Target on Oahu.

The retailer said last year that it planned to open in Kailua in October, but construction was delayed due to an archaeological study that discovered unidentified iwi kupuna, or Native Hawaiian skeletal remains.

The store at 345 Hahani St. will measure 134,000 square feet and include fresh food, a Starbucks and Target Pharmacy.

The company also will open its first store on Maui early next year.
