Honolulu Police investigated a suspicious small fire on 10th Avenue in Palolo this morning.

Arson is suspected in three small fires in Palolo early this morning.

Fire Capt. Terry Seelig said a couch and other items left outside for disposal were apparently set on fire at about 3:45 a.m. at two locations at a home on 10th Avenue.

The fire damaged a fence, causing about $1,000 damage, Seelig said.

Just after firefighters extinguished the first fires, another couch caught fire a few blocks away.

Firefighters called police because it appeared both fires were intentionally set, Seelig said.
