Panaewa Zoo’s white tiger Namaste has died
Namaste, the white Bengal tiger at Hawaii County’s Paneawa Rainforest Zoo, has died.
Namaste, the main attraction of the zoo, was euthanized Thursday morning due to complications from a broken hind leg, county parks spokesman Jason Armstrong said.
The tiger was 15 years old and lived longer than any of his siblings, Armstrong said.
Namaste was buried Thursday in his enclosure, and the spot will be marked with a monument.
Armstrong said the county parks department will be looking for a tiger to replace Namaste at the zoo.
