Sgt. Drew Scobie hugged a colleague at a deployment ceremony Tuesday for Detachment 55, a small aviation unit of the Hawaii Army National Guard that is headed for Afghanistan. Behind him is a twin-engine C-26 turboprop, the type of plane the unit flies in Hawaii. In Afghanistan, Detachment 55 soldiers will operate smaller Super King Air 300 reconnaissance aircraft.
