Hawaii County police arrest man and woman in drug raid
Hawaii County police arrested two people after a search of their Pepeekeo home yielded some 35.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
A narcotics search warrant was executing Thursday at the Kaapepa Street residence. In addition to the drugs, the search turned up paraphernalia associated with distribution. Police also seized a 2006 Dodge truck, a 2001 Toyota Camry, a 1995 Honda hatchback and trailer, and $5,751 in cash for forfeiture.
On Friday, police charged 31-year old Ryland Uchima with first-degree attempted meth trafficking, third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Uchima’s bail was set at $56,000. Uchima’s initial court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
The other person arrested, a 30-year-old woman, was released pending further investigation.
