Kakaako stabbing witness says man chased after teen with knife
A witness told police that the 30-year-old Palolo man accused of stabbing her 17-year-old nephew twice yelled that he was going to stab and kill the victim with a steak knife, according to a police affidavit.
Son Alexander on Monday entered a plea of not guilty in District Court to a charge of second-degree attempted murder in the Aug. 5 incident. His bail was set at $75,000. Alexander’s preliminary hearing in District Court will be held Wednesday.
Son was charged Friday with attempting to kill a 17-year-old boy during an argument in Kakaako.
The victim’s aunt told police that she saw Alexander carrying a six-inch steak knife and chasing her nephew at Ohe and Olomehani streets at 11:15 p.m. Aug. 5.
She said the suspect was yelling: “I going to stab you. I going to kill you.”
The victim was stabbed on the right side of his body, the witness said. However, he was able to get up and tried to escape.

The witness said Alexander then allegedly repeated: “I going to kill you.”
Alexander tackled the victim and stabbed him on the left side, she told police.
The victim told police that the suspect had been drinking and became mad with him when he tried to talk to him. He said Alexander threatened to beat him up and stab him.
