Kayaker gets into trouble off Black Point
A kayaker got into trouble Friday morning off Black Point in East Honolulu and had to be helped by Ocean Safety personnel.
Capt. Carlton Yamada, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman, said the distress call came in at 9:33 a.m.
A man got separated from his kayak about 200 yards from the shore, Yamada said.
Ocean Safety rescue personnel were able to retrieve the craft and return it to the kayaker 30 minutes later.
