Lifeguards rescue boy who nearly drowned at Waikiki Beach
Lifeguards rescued a boy who nearly drowned 3 p.m. Friday in Waikiki near the Kapahulu Groin.
Ocean Safety personnel said a boater contacted the Coast Guard, which contacted Ocean Safety.
The swimmer, who appeared to be in his late teens, was turned over to the Emergency Medical Services who treated the teen and transported him by ambulance in serious condition to a trauma center.
