Hawaii evens baseball series against UC Santa Barbara
Conner George had three hits and Pi’ikea Kitamura and Kaeo Aliviado each drove in two runs as Hawaii evened its series against UC Santa Barbara with a 6-2 win on Friday night at Les Murakami Stadium.
Corey MacDonald (3-2) pitched his second complete game and won for the third time in his last four starts for the Rainbows (6-17, 1-1 Big West), who can win their first conference series with a victory on Saturday night against the Gauchos (13-11, 1-1).
Kitamura extended his hitting streak to seven games with a two-run double in the seventh as Hawaii scored six unanswered runs after trailing 2-0.
Austin Wobrock went 2-for-3 with two runs and Stephen Ventimilia singled and scored twice for Hawaii.
MacDonald allowed two runs on four hits with two walks and six strikeouts.
Justin Jacome (2-2) took the loss for UCSB, giving up three runs on four hits in 6 1/3 innings with two walks and six strikeouts.
