Two brothers charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child were arrested by U.S. marshals without incident Friday morning at Honolulu Airport en route to Majuro.
Tarius Manuere, 43, and Noah Manuere, 40, were booked by Honolulu police and are awaiting an extradition hearing for Texas. They are scheduled to appear in federal court Monday.
An arrest warrant was issued Jan. 8 by the state of Texas, Navarro County, charging the brothers with aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony. The alleged crime occurred over a period of time.
The alleged female juvenile victim is a relative of the Manuere brothers. The victim is four months pregnant, and the father is suspected to be one of the brothers.
The suspects fled Corsicana, Texas, on Sunday. The North Texas Fugitive Task Force learned through its investigations that the suspects were en route to Majuro, in the Marshall Islands, and referred the case to Hawaii authorities.
