Remake of 1973 episode helps ‘Five-0′ win time slot
"Hawaii Five-0" turned a retro episode into a CBS ratings victory Monday, according to Nielsen ratings released by the network.
The cop drama drew 9.86 million viewers to its remake of "Hookman," which first aired in 1973. That was enough to win the hour over ABC rival "Castle," which attracted 8.89 million viewers. NBC’s "Deception" was third with 3.08 million viewers. Among the key advertising demographic Monday night, adults 18-49, "Five-0" drew 2.3 percent of the total viewing audience and 6 percent of those watching TV at the time, CBS said. "Castle" drew 1.8 percent of the viewing audience and 5 percent of those watching TV.
The new "Hookman," the only episode with an English title since the reboot began in 2010, used nearly all of the original locations, many of the original screen angles and the same plot as the original.
