Four-year-old Hawaii girl first to die from flu virus
State health officials confirmed a 4-year-old girl has died of the flu virus — the first flu death this season.
The girl died Sunday despite being under a physician’s care for a few days and being given Tamiflu, state health spokesperson Janice Okubo said.
Hawaii had one child who died of the flu during the last flu season, she said.
The season runs from October through March and has hit particularly hard on the Mainland.
