Alan Wong’s restaurant tops the list of most popular Hawaii restaurants in Zagat’s newly released Hawaii Guide. La Mer at the Halekulani took the lead spots in the "Top Food," "Top Service" and "Top Decor" rankings, while Waiola Bakery & Shave Ice was No. 1 in the "Best Buys" category.
Zagat is among the world’s leading restaurant guides.
Other popular restaurants include Assagio (ranked second), Big City Diner (third), Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar (fourth) and 3660 on the Rise (fifth).
Other picks, by cuisines, were town (American), Helena’s (Hawaiian), Hy’s (steakhouses), Alan Wong’s (Hawaii regional), Little Village Noodle House (Chinese) and Highway Inn (diners).
Topping other most-popular categories were the Mai Tai Bar (nightspots), USS Arizona Memorial (sites and attractions), ABC Stores (shopping) and Don Quijote (shopping — food and wine). The complete list is at www.zagat.com.
Meanwhile, Sansei in the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa was also recognized as a 2012 Fodor’s Choice selection.
