Akaka has $15K left in campaign account
Former U.S. Sen. Daniel Akaka left office with about $15,000 in his campaign account.
Akaka recently filed his fourth quarter fundraising report with the Federal Election Commission. It covered the period from Oct. 1 through Dec. 31. Akaka did not raise any money during that period.
Akaka did not seek re-election last year. He was succeeded in the new Congress, sworn in earlier this month, by Sen. Mazie Hirono.
There are restrictions on the use of campaign funds once someone leaves office.
