The average daily car rental rate in Honolulu is $94, the second-highest in the nation behind the $95 rate in Anchorage, Alaska.

A survey by CheapCarRental.net compared and ranked 50 U.S. destinations based on rental rates for the cheapest available car, from June to August. Each city’s airport was chosen as the pick-up and drop-off location.

The third-costliest destination in which to rent a car was Wash., D.C., with an average rate of $81, while the most affordable daily car rental rates were found in Los Angeles, at $35; Las Vegas at $32, and Columbus, Ohio, at $28.
