New solar energy farm coming to Oahu
A 497 kilowatt, ground-based photovoltaic solar system called Waianae PV-2 will be built by Nevada-based Blue Earth Inc.
The $2 million project will sell electricity generated by the facility to Hawaiian Electric Co. under a 20-year power-purchase agreement.
Waianae PV-2 is the name of the entity, wholly owned by Blue Earth, that will engineer, construct, own, operate and maintain the facility.
